Most mobile networks have reintroduced roaming charges within the EU. This means that a daily fee will be applied to use your phone and this affects most contracts taken from the end of 2021 onwards.
Roaming outside of the EU varies between networks but most popular destinations have a plan in place to capture costs (typically a daily rate to access your UK tariff).
Please contact us to confirm the costs and for advice on how to minimise them.
We also recommend caution when travelling because we have seen an increase in unexpected charges from maritime and inflight mobile networks. These networks are hosted by the boat or airplane and your device could roam onto them without your knowledge. Costs on these networks are high with data typically being charged at £6 per megabyte.
Switching off mobile data in your device or placing it in airplane mode will help avoid unwanted charges.
